Research Buyer Department:
Purchasing/ Sales Primary Function:
The Research Buyer generates and sends RFQ's to manufacturers and distributors for parts and equipment to be resold to the US Government Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
The Research Buyer calls on suppliers to negotiate and assure quote/offer compliance per US Government military contract requirements.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
1) Communicate with various vendors to verify parts availability and obtain best resale prices 2) Discuss technical product details with vendors 3) Verify and update vendor contacts with online research tools.
4) Identify manufacturer authorized distributors 5) Create new vendor accounts 6) Send vendor RFQ's and follow up with vendors to expedite pricing 7) Document system with all follow up notes and research efforts 8) Review incoming vendor prices for offer accuracy and competitive pricing 9) Negotiate price, lead time, freight and payment terms with vendors Minimum Qualifications/
Experience:
a) Experienced with government procurement a plus b) Experience with sourcing and purchasing of parts and equipment required c) Background in Aerospace, Defense, Aviation, Automotive, Industrial parts sales desired d) Attention to detail e) excellent phone skills f) Persistency g) Excellent Negotiation skills h) Confidence i) Outgoing personality j) Quick witted, sharp with good business sense k) Experience in sourcing parts and equipment l) Ability to understand technical parts and equipment details Job Type:
