Job
Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive pre-operative assessments of patients, including reviewing medical history, verifying consent forms, and preparing patients for surgery.
Administer medications, including pre-operative sedation and pain management, as prescribed by physicians.
Monitor patients' post-operative recovery in the PACU, assessing vital signs, pain levels, and overall well-being.
Provide thorough and compassionate patient care, ensuring comfort, safety, and effective communication throughout the entire perioperative process.
Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure a seamless transition from the pre-operative area to the operating room and from the operating room to the PACU.
Document accurate and detailed electronic medical records, including patient assessments, medications administered, and post-operative recovery progress.
Adhere to infection control protocols, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe and sterile environment.
Serve as a patient advocate, promoting their privacy, dignity, and overall satisfaction with the care provided.
Qualifications:
Valid RN license in the state of Florida.
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Pre-op and/or PACU nurse.
Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Proficiency in perioperative nursing principles, practices, and techniques.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced surgical environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
